Bridal photography, to me, is one of those very special fields where, due to the meaning (and well, sacredness) it holds and therefore similar interests of brides and grooms around the world, is confined to a specific type of visual and shooting style. So as an absolutely clueless 22-year-old with 0 experience whatsoever with weddings, and absolutely good intentions (I swear), I relished the idea of photographing and embracing an extravagant young bride who’s a complete diva, bridezilla and drama queen! I basically went into this with the idea of a glorified wedding that’s a celebration of ignorance and youth. No classic hairstyles! No flawless updos! And it’s okay! Probably only to me anyway but hopefully that’s okay!
I mean, it is okay to have fun with weddings right?
So after 3 meetings, 2 castings and a sourcing trip in KL (Shona went la, not me), I’m so relieved and happy that I can say that the images actually turned out the way I visualized them. It rarely ever happens!
