Lady Genevieve

  • Model: Genevieve W. (AVE)
  • Special thanks to: TRICKY Studios

Note: The first two chunks of paragraphs were birthed last week after a spontaneous Karaoke sesh with Xander and Genevieve!

I realized today that I haven’t blogged about Genevieve’s shoot. To be precise, I realized this as I was revealing my innermost desire to become either a rapper or a boyband member to Genevieve (the model) and Xander (the stylist).

If the eyes are the windows to your soul, then karaoke is the soul’s egoistic 2-hour recital. And when it comes to reciting (not singing ah) Lana del Rey songs, I am absolutely tyrannical. It’s tragic. I am tragic.

So we photographed Genevieve in her first week here! It was her first shoot here, and we basically defied all professhuner shoot conventions. There was talking, there was laughing, and I even forced her to dance to her favourite song at some point. Idk about places I haven’t worked at, but I generally feel that shoots in Singapore are usually a lot more subdued, technical, and target/performance-based when most clients are present.

Our makeup artist Marie does fantastic behind-the-scenes posts, and she did one for this shoot if you’re interested!

By the way, if you’d like more juicy details on how the fashion industries around the world work, check out Genevieve’s blog! The ultimate goal is to get it made into a reality show/sitcom, and honestly I hope she succeeds: http://g-l-w.blogspot.com

I really like the photos from this shoot. And you guys seem to like it too, considering that the print of her giving life to a bubblegum was the first to sell out at Undeground Market.

Speaking of which, my postcards are now available online at Naiise (nice!!) :’)

More deets next post ♥
