I want to be a bottled blonde

... a 21st century whore ♪

… a 21st century whore ♪

Hi bitches I’m baaaaack! What you see above is the result of gettin’ my hair did at PACT + LIM at Orchard Central a couple of days back. Kazuki, the subarashii/kakoii/sugoii/いい hairstylist whom I met on the set of Sunshine (which I will blog about soon), is helping me go rogue blonde, and these are the results of my first session!

A big thank you to miss Sonia C for helping me snap these shots after I photographed her hot-girl intepretation of Levi’s 501 jeans!

I also took some truly terrifying photos of the bleaching process, which I’ll share when the entire deed is done. I’m going back again next week, and part 2 of The Plan is to thoroughly drown my extremely dead hair in bleach, and achieve the very chic, and very horrifyingly damaged peroxide blonde look.

So while the high cost of becoming blonde wasn’t sponsored, do you know what was? This super gorgeous floral sweater!!!!

Yeah I considered ending on the previous line to make it the worst transition and awkwardest closing line ever… but nope.

Jackie, Beyond and ladyboss of Toxic Codeine kindly offered to send me some items last week, which I eagerly accepted in exchange for my soul. As made apparent by her blog, the girl is seriously cool; so check out her super rad store if you’re hoping to earn some cool points by blowing some cash!

Why yes, that thing in my brain that filters out what’s inappropriate to say is totally functioning today!

Porn Stars, Social Media and The Canyons

Porn Stars, Social Media, and The Canyons

This image from POP Spring/Summer 2013 (by Sean & Seng) has essentially confirmed my suspicions that intellectual and extremely likeable porn star Stoya could fit relatively well in the pages of fashion magazines.

Are ‘intellectual’ and ‘likeable’ words that you expected to share a sentence with a porn star?

Before I dive into my inane ramble, I’d just like to be clear that although I feel very strongly about this, I also feel incredibly uneasy about potentially associating myself with this topic. And elaborating on that, though I think it’s pretty obvious why I’d be uncomfortable, could only end in an overly unoriginal piece on social stigmas and My Clear Conscience…

I still can’t believe I’m writing about porn on my “fashion blog”. Afterall, I am the photographer who only shot a male model topless because he politely inquired if he could (please) take his shirt off for some of the shots.

So I know from firsthand experience that makeup is the 8th wonder of the world, but still…

So anyway I recently came across the instagram of this… makeup artist to the stars: http://instagram.com/xmelissamakeupx/

Aside from the more common responses, i.e “omg the after is damn hot” “oh yeah they’re actual human beings too hor” “wow omg maybe with a boob job she could make me look like a porn star too”, the Before-and-After shots made me feel unexpectedly relieved. I’m not quite sure why…

Then being a creep in the social age, the next natural step was to place my “omg they have parents too” feelings on hold and google their names. (But I made sure that my safe search was on, first!) Read more…

a love letter from me to you

A behind-the-scenes photo from my Candy Magazine photoshoot that should have been posted 2 days ago

A behind-the-scenes photo from my Candy Magazine photoshoot that should have, um, been posted 2 days ago

As you may have noticed, my already-sparse post frequency has been dwindling to er, nothing… and I feel like I owe you an apology and an explanation. I love seeing your reactions to my posts (note: not the actual blogging bit), but I’ve been focusing on my top priority at the moment-

Hold on, it’s clear that I’m a photographer right??

In between that, this blog, trying to design, market, and run a label out of my room, and well, real life, it’s obvious that I have an awful habit of multitasking. I want to focus and do each of these things well, rather than spread myself thinner (although if that makes me physically thinner i guess that would be ok right why not)

I haven’t actually blogged about fashion /fashion/ in ages and I get so awkward and shy (paiseh) when people refer to me as a “fashion blogger”, i mean, first of all do I even blog regularly, secondly, does my blog even qualify I mean what is it even

I’m doing so many exciting photoshoots and having such a good time being a workaholic (does this qualify as a problem with a capital P?) that I want to document everything and share it with you! Problem is… I can’t actually share anything until the images are published, and there’s usually at least a 2 month break in between the process.

Although I’m going to update as much as I can, what I’m trying to say is that things are going to be slow around here …until May. May will be worth reading about, trust me.

In the meantime, please don’t forget about me!! Thank you for supporting me, for reading my junk, and er, giving a shit. #eloquent

I lav you so please keep in touch on Instagram at @lenneigh, or on the Facebook page!! I’m not going anywhere (yet) x

Paying Tribute

Photoshoot: Tribute

  • Featuring designs by:
  • Danny L.
  • Carrie K.

  • Special thanks to:
  • Yutaki James
  • Bryan Goh

When we set out to do this shoot, we had Hansel & Gretel in mind. But what we actually saw when reviewing the photos… was a cross between The Hunger Games and Twilight! Shall we just pretend that this was a tribute (geddit) to just about every hit teen movie franchise in the past couple of years?

P/S In an earlier post, I asked you guys to guess what the concept for this shoot might have been, and the most common response was actually Blaine from Glee!!?! So which is worse in your opinion – A medieval-ish shoot that accidentally resembles Twilight or one where the male model (sorry, Akos!) ends up looking like a character from Glee?
