Lomography gone Wild!

Feb 16 / 12:00am

Hello stranger! I was invited to Lomography Singapore's Lomography WILD party some weeks ago, which was tons of fun!

The Camera

The bloggers were each loaned a lomo cam to document the event with, and I was assigned to the La Sardina (along with a flash). Mine had a wide-angle lens with multiple exposure capabilities. It's a gorgeous cam, and like most lomos, real easy to use. I particularly love the Pattern editions. Not the exact design I used, but with the flash, it looked a little like this:

Random obligatory "WHEN DID I TAKE THIS AND WHAT IS THAT" film shot.

Attending an event that turned out to be an actual party was pretty refreshing, and the activities the team planned were hilarious.

For instance, the bloggers were asked to judge a live fashion catwalk show- the "wildest" contestant wins! FYI, the competition was pretty wild. Highlights included a contestant offering to bare a little more skin, and some awfully strange dancing.

I also found out, upon reaching the event, that bloggers were automatically in the running for best dressed- according to the animalistic dress code, of course. Yusrina's fierce prints won her a brand new Animal edition camera!! (Off-topic, but wow, finally a legit use of fierce where fashion's involved..?)

And speaking of Yusrina, it was really nice to see Liyana, Shane and Yusrina again! I haven't had the time to attend any events lately, and getting to play catch up with other bloggers was really enjoyable.

I'm pretty good at camwhoring, but I'm not talented enough to take full-body photos of myself. So what I'm trying to say is that photos of me were taken by this guy, and the other photos were snapped by me. This a photo of YY, who apparently looks like the local Lomography store's boss. So that's how he affords his Commes des Garçons...

In conclusion, the La Sardina was great, and it was a remarkably fun day. A huge thank you to the Lomography SG team for having me, and thanks for throwing such a marvelous party! ♥

Lunar New Year Special: Outfit + Samsung NX200 Review

Jan 26 / 2:57pm
Web_sam3213

Surprise! It's a new post... on time!

How are you enjoying the holidays so far? I've been stuffing my face full with Pig's Stomach soup, and it's been simply splendid.

Samsung kindly lent me a NX200 for the NAPBAS trip, and as a result, I've been neglecting my D90. Some of you may recall the mini-review that I did for the NX100 last year, and I've decided to do a more indepth one for the new model. So without further ado, here's my take on the NX200!

Samsung-nx200_1

The Technical Overview

  • 20.3 Megapixels with APC-C size CMOS Sensor
  • ISO 100 - 12,800
  • 1080p HD Movie Recording
  • Weight: 220g
  • 3.0" AMOLED Display

In English, it means that it's a really light mirrorless 4/3 camera with a spectactular ISO (film speed/light sensitivity) range, "true" HD and a crystal clear display.

Flash vs No Flash

Chiffon Blazer: Global Citizen
Faux Snakeskin Bag: Global Citizen
Necklace: Jipaban
Leather Cuff: CK
Nude Wedges: Jipaban

As you can see, the flash doesn't make much of a difference in the day, lol. It's fantastic at night, though. The NX200, like its predecessor, does not come with a built-in flash. My set came with an external flash (SEF8A). I believe that the previous flash I reviewed ran on batteries, whereas this one is "powered" by the camera itself.

My opinion regarding the external flash hasn't changed- It's one of my favorite things about the NX series, as it makes your complexion look really good. Just take the photos in this post for instance. All the camwhore photos were unedited!

(And this is also why they don't usually ask shallow women to review cameras...)

Audi Fashion Festival: Antonio Berardi

May 26 / 6:24am

Antonio Berardi was showcased on the same night as alldressedup and Francis Cheong. I was surprised to see that the designer himself actually graced the event!

The dresses were ahhhhhmazing. All the ladies I met after the show couldn't stop gushing about cocktail dresses! I love the silhouettes of his designs, as well as the luxurious fabrics used!

Web-1842
That being said, it's a real pity that the dresses didn't photograph very well. While it was absolutely breathtaking in person, reviewing the photos made me wonder if some of the designs were more crass than class..?

All in all, a beautiful collection with great workmanship. A huge thank you to Belvedere Vodka for the invitation! Upcoming posts include Star Creation and backstage photos so stay tuned! x
