You might know by now that I take forever to retouch photos, so it probably won't surprise you that this set isn't complete yet! Nonetheless, I thought that it was so apt for Chinese New Year that I simply had to share.

As for the title of this series:

輕功 is ~basically~ a form of the mad ninja skills more commonly known as Chinese Martial Arts. Or you could think of it as an exaggerated form of Parkour, I guess.

Happy Lunar New Year, everyone!

Behind The Scenes: Empress

Dec 29 / 11:59pm

We had a shoot last Tuesday. Last Tuesday, as in, two days ago, kind of Last Tuesday. As in, I can't believe it, I'm so incredibly impressed with Miss Jean Goh Seizure for uploading this behind-the-scenes video in less than two days, kind of Last Tuesday. Friendship can be so beautiful :')

Anyhoo, you may already know all this if you've seen me foaming and spazzing all over Twitter. If I've disrupted your timeline, I apologize. Please understand that it'll probably happen again.

I have no idea when these photos will be up, just like how I have no idea how anyone (me) can look this unvideogenic. But that's a lie, I look just as bad in real life :'D

On that same self-deprecating note, I don't think I'm capable of doing anything at decent speed! I've been squeezing out bits and pieces of the NAPBAS post slowly, every single day. Let's see if I can get it out before 2011 ends

Haven't had the chance to blog about this since I just got back from NAPBAS, but the couture spread that we did for Designaré Magazine is finally out!! Shooting couture dresses was a dream that I filed away in the "impossible" section of my bucket list, and I can't believe it happened so soon.

The artist behind the gorgeous artwork is Valerie Chua of Quietgirl.net. I've admired her work for the longest time, so having this opportunity to collaborate was nothing short of amazing. Please grab a copy of Designaré's December issue to view the illustrations in their full glory! These scans do them very little justice.

There's a long list of people that I feel indebted to, but first and foremost, I'd like to thank Frank Cintamani, without whom this shoot never would've happened. Thank you for taking a chance on me, and giving me such a wonderful opportunity to showcase my work! I'd also like to thank Kim Reyes for all her guidance, and for giving the team creative freedom.

Thank you 娘 (my mom), John, and all my friends for bearing with me and granting me all the patience in the world while I worried, worried, and worried through the entire production process. I'm blessed to have such supportive people in my life.

Last but not least, a huge thank you to my awesome team! I'm really proud of what we've achieved, and I really don't know what I'd do without you ♥

Edit: My mom just walked past and told me to tell you guys that my dad thinks that her name should've been in the magazine. I've seen more than one copy of this issue lying around the house. I suspect that she's been secretly stocking up...

Emma blew me away with her love and passion for Libertiev, and working with her was amazing. Venetia took this shoot by the helm, and maybe that's why things went so smoothly for a change! Haha.

I'll never forget how life-threatening the location felt, thanks to my inability to coordinate my two feet, and my battle scars (read: sun tan) have ensured that I won't forget about this shoot anytime soon. Any ideas on how to get my skin colour back to a single shade once again?
